Scottish Inspired Nail Art with Wardrobe Conversations

Hello Scot Bloggers!

We are Kimberley and Helen of Wardrobe Conversations, a fashion and lifestyle blog where we share our outfits and adventures. We are big fans of nail art and are constantly creating talons inspired by our favourite designers and past times. With this in mind we decided to paint up some special Scottish inspired nails for our Scot Bloggers guest post. With it's rich textile history, and Helen's 4 years spent studying fashion in the Scottish Borders, we decided to use some of the countries most famous fabrics as inspiration.

Tartan is one of the first things that springs to mind when thinking of bonnie Scotland. We decided we wanted to avoid the See You Jimmy style and bring this iconic pattern bang up to date by using spring/summer pinks. Mixing in a bit of neon and using simple lines also helps to give a more modern edge.

Harris Tweed is an iconic Scottish brand with it's roots firmly in the fashion industry promoting luxury and craftsmanship. We decided to avoid the gentry look and create a more Vivienne Westwood style with blues and silvers, another fabulous look for S/S 14. The recognisable orb also looks great as a statement nail amongst the fabric inspired texture.
