Grouping Our Scot Bloggers Geographically

Flickr
This little project has been in the very early stages for a while now but I've not had the time to commit to it properly. No I've finished university for the summer though I'm hoping to have more time to dedicate to getting it planned out properly.

I want to create twitter lists for the various different areas of Scotland and all their wonderful Scot Bloggers. You might have noticed on twitter I've started with Aberdeen Bloggers and Dundee Bloggers. As well as Glasgow and Edinburgh bloggers (which I think should be quite easy to gather together) I've started a list for Fife Bloggers.

This is where I need your help! There are such a wide variety of bloggers all over Scotland I'm not sure how to group you geographically. Should I keep doing it by nearest city (which I thought would be easier) or by region? Is is worth doing a group of Inverness bloggers say or how do I group people who aren't anywhere near a big city?

Please let me know in the comments below or via twitter @ScotBloggers

Also if you want to be added to one of these lists just give me a tweet and I can do that easily.

  1. Hi Claire,

I think it would be better to have regions and cities. Living on the Isle of Bute means I don't really feel I could be grouped with Glasgow bloggers which would be my nearest city but is actually quite far away! I would rather be listed as Argyll & Bute as a region and I'm sure there are loads of rural and island bloggers out there that don't live near cities and would rather be placed in their region. Just my thoughts!

  2. I don't think I have a preferred way, I have already been added to the Aberdeen List, but live in Aberdeenshire, but Aberdeen would be my closest city. If it was regions, then I guess I would be Grampian? Either way I'm not worried which, I'm happy to go with the majority or whatever is easier to maintain :)
