With the stunning North Berwick coastline as a backdrop, and only 30 minutes by train from Edinburgh, the Fabulous Food Fest has something for everyone. From battling chefs in a return of the old TV favourite, ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ to the stunning show pieces of amateur bakers competing for the glory of becoming the first champion in the ‘North Berwick Cake Off’.
Event Director, Caroline Vevers, has been a keen supporter of Fringe By The Sea, the North Berwick based music and arts festival since it started in her home town. ‘I am thrilled to be able to work with the team there as I cook up the very first Fabulous Food Fest. Being situated in the heart of North Berwick means that we have access to some of the best produce that Scotland has to offer, and what better way to celebrate that than by eating it!’
As well as cookery demonstrations there will be a variety of top quality food producers exhibiting their wares with a chance to sample some of their mouth-watering goodies.
Caroline also hopes that success in August will mean some travel for the Fabulous Food Fest. “We’re hoping to be able to host the event in a number of different spots around the country. Scotland has such a range of amazing home-grown food and drink as well as a sense of confidence in how to fuse those with international cuisine in ever more interesting ways. We want to get as many people as possible excited about fabulous food!”
